Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard: Five Centuries of History in Burgundy

Nearly five hundred years ago, a man named Jean Girard planted his first vines in Savigny-lès-Beaune. This founding gesture became the beginning of a true lineage. Seven generations later, Jean-Jacques Girard took up the torch by creating his own estate and preserving the family spirit. In 2008, his son Vincent joined the adventure, bringing new energy to this beautiful Burgundian story. Today, the estate covers 21 hectares of carefully maintained vines. Around 150,000 bottles are produced each year, each reflecting a form of agriculture that respects both terroir and the environment. Since 2020, the domaine has been certified HVE3, proof of a deep and lasting commitment.

A Vineyard Rooted in Burgundian Excellence

Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard cultivates the emblematic grape varieties of the region: Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Three varieties, three expressions, one shared standard of excellence. Its vineyard stretches across a string of Burgundy’s most renowned villages: • Savigny-lès-Beaune • Pernand-Vergelesses • Chorey-lès-Beaune • Aloxe-Corton • Beaune • Volnay • Pommard Like all Burgundy climats, these parcels were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 4, 2015. A symbolic but richly deserved recognition, as these lands tell a unique story of precision, patience and elegance.

A Philosophy Blending Tradition and Innovation

Traditional know-how has never been abandoned at the estate: meticulous soil work, close observation of the vines, carefully managed harvests. But modernity also plays its part. The Girard family has integrated new technologies to optimize vinification and reveal every nuance, every mineral expression, every breath of the terroir. The result speaks for itself: wines that are authentic, expressive, refined and balanced, faithful to the true character of Burgundy.

A Range of Red Wines Marked by Great Elegance

Its range includes: • Bourgogne Aligoté • Bourgogne Chardonnay • Savigny-lès-Beaune • Pernand-Vergelesses Village and Premier Cru • Meursault and Meursault Premier Cru • Chassagne-Montrachet Village and Premier Cru • Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru • Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Here, the whites express the mineral tension, freshness and precision that have earned the Côte de Beaune worldwide acclaim.

A Responsible Vineyard: HVE3 Certification

The estate proudly bears the “High Environmental Value” label. Behind this designation lies a strong commitment: protecting nature, preserving ecosystems and placing the vineyard within a global approach to sustainability. This certification highlights practices that respect soils, biodiversity and the natural cycle of the vine. A philosophy found in every drop produced.
