Domaine Gilles Copéret: Passion, Authenticity, and the Terroir of Beaujolais
A Family Story Rooted in Beaujolais. Domaine Gilles Copéret, located in Régnié-Durette, is a family-run wine estate where passion and authenticity guide every step. For several generations, Annie and Gilles Copéret have cultivated their vines with deep respect for the terroir and a desire to transmit the soul of Beaujolais through their cuvées.
A Sustainable and Responsible Commitment
Certified Terra Vitis and labeled Vigneron Indépendant, the estate places the environment at the heart of its priorities. Viticultural practices are carried out with rigor, in a way that respects biodiversity and tradition. Each wine reflects the identity of the clay-limestone and granite soils that have made Beaujolais renowned.
The Richness of Gamay, the Emblematic Grape of Beaujolais
Since the 17th century, Gamay noir à jus blanc has been the sole grape variety of the Beaujolais crus. On the slopes of Régnié, Morgon, Fleurie, and Brouilly, it reveals its full diversity: from fruity and gourmet wines to powerful and elegant cuvées. At the estate, Gamay achieves a unique expression thanks to meticulous work both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
A Story of Transmission and Evolution
From generation to generation, the estate’s story is written with passion:
- 1931: Jean Trichard takes over the family estate in Régnié.
- 1986: Gilles Copéret succeeds his maternal grandfather and gradually expands the vineyard.
- 1988: The adventure becomes truly family-run with his wife, Annie.
- 2005: Construction of a modern cellar combining tradition and innovation.
- 2018: Acquisition of 2.5 hectares under La Madone in Fleurie, reinforcing the estate’s presence.
Today, the estate combines tradition, modernity, and resilience, even in the face of climatic challenges, with a philosophy centered on quality and sharing.
