Located at 350 metres of altitude in the Vaucluse, Domaine du Tix is a vineyard that draws its roots from the millennia-old history of the Rhône Valley. This land, once called 'closed valley' by the Romans, was already cultivated more than 2,500 years ago: the Vaucluse then served as a true agricultural garden for the Roman Empire. Even today, it is not rare to find in the plots coins bearing the effigy of Caesar, silent witnesses of this ancient past. This memory of the place is found in each vintage produced at the estate.
An altitude terroir ideal for Vaucluse wines
The vineyard of Domaine du Tix benefits from a natural environment particularly favourable to the production of great southern Rhône wines. The estate enjoys a generous Mediterranean climate: exceptional sunshine almost all year round, an altitude of 350 metres, cool nights and abundant dew, and the influence of the Mistral, the emblematic wind of the Rhône Valley. This combination creates a natural thermal contrast that allows the grapes to develop freshness, tension and aromatic complexity despite the intensity of the Provençal sun. The clay-limestone soils, rich and draining, force the roots to sink deep into the earth: this constraint reinforces the concentration of the fruit and gives elegant, balanced and expressive wines.
An organic viticulture respectful of the terroir
At Domaine du Tix, the quality of the wine begins in the vineyard. The human scale of the vineyard allows an artisanal viticulture, where each vine is worked with precision: disbudding, removal of side shoots, thinning of the bunches, management of the leaf surface to optimise sun exposure. The estate is certified Organic since 2020 and High Environmental Value (HVE), commitments that reflect the will to produce Vaucluse wines respectful of nature and faithful to their terroir.

The renaissance of Domaine du Tix
The modern history of the estate begins in 2001, when Marie Pirsch and Philippe Danel discovered the property. The site is magnificent and the potential of the terroir obvious, but the vines then produced only table grapes. Driven by an ambitious vision, they transformed the vineyard: over 20,000 vines were grafted with grapes destined for quality wine production, and 92% of the grafts survived. In 2016, André Tremblay took over the estate with the aim of bringing the Tix wines to a level of excellence: he modernised the facilities, improved the practices and developed the estate's reputation. Since 2020, Nathalie Bonhomme, with over thirty years of experience, has contributed to the development and reputation of the estate, whose wines are regularly awarded and present on many gastronomic tables.
