A family history since 1820. Created in 1820 at the heart of the Cher valley, Domaine des Souterrains now stretches over 23 hectares. Heir to a long winemaking know-how, it expresses all the richness of its terroir through cuvees regularly awarded and served on prestigious tables.

Nicolas Mazzesi and Katherine Wu - a new impetus for the estate
In 2011, Nicolas Mazzesi and his wife Katherine Wu took over Domaine des Souterrains with a clear ambition: to raise the vineyard to its highest qualitative potential. Coming from the medical sector, Nicolas chose to train in viticulture at the Amboise wine school before devoting himself fully to the vine.
From 2012, the estate obtained the Terra Vitis certification, a guarantee of reasoned viticulture, respectful of the environment and of people. In 2020, the approach was reinforced by the HVE 3 (High Environmental Value) label. This demand comes with a significant reduction of sulphur in the wines, ensuring a purer expression of the fruit.
From Domaine des Souterrains to Château de Selles-sur-Cher
Lovers of local heritage, Nicolas and Katherine also took over the Chateau de Selles-sur-Cher in 2014, then left abandoned. They undertook its renovation, installed a modern cellar and launched a new range: the Cuvees Chateau, thus reconnecting with the winemaking history of the site.
