In Saint-Étienne-du-Bois, in the Vendée, Domaine des Îles has been writing a family wine story for nearly forty years. From 0.50 hectare in 1985 to 170 hectares today, the Penisson family crafts sincere wines, in reasoned viticulture, from Muscadet to the Val de Loire.
Located in Saint-Étienne-du-Bois, Domaine des Îles is a family wine adventure that has been unfolding for nearly forty years. Founded in 1985 by Pierre Penisson with just 0.50 hectare of vines, the estate was born of a simple but solid ambition: to make sincere wines, respectful of their environment and faithful to their terroir.
Today, the vineyard spans 170 hectares, the fruit of a gradual and controlled development. Pierrick and Landry Penisson, Pierre's sons, joined the estate and take an active part in its development. Together, they carry on this family story in a spirit of transmission, rigour and complementarity.

Over the years, Domaine des Îles has developed its winegrowing potential while keeping a responsible and pragmatic approach. Since 2003, the vineyard has been farmed with reasoned viticulture, an approach based on observation, agronomic common sense and respect for natural balances.
This philosophy notably aims to preserve the surrounding biodiversity, limit unnecessary interventions, sustainably protect the health of the soils and vines, and ensure a regular, quality production. An approach designed to last, which is naturally found in the style of the wines.

Thanks to the diversity of its plots and soils, Domaine des Îles makes wines under several appellations, IGP Vin de Pays, Muscadet AOC, Muscadet Côtes de Grand-Lieu AOC and IGP Val de Loire, offering a broad palette of styles, suited both to everyday moments and to more gastronomic tables.
