Domaine des Gaudets, the elegance of Beaujolais with a Burgundian soul
At Domaine des Gaudets, wine is not a trend, but a family story. For four generations, the vineyard has been passed down with rigor and humility. Christophe Sornay’s great-great-grandfather was a cooper, which says a lot about how wood, wine, and long time horizons are part of the estate’s DNA.
Today, Christophe carries on this heritage with a clear vision: to produce sincere, precise wines that are deeply rooted in their terroir.
A committed vineyard, close to living soils
The estate covers 12 hectares spread across Morgon, Régnié, and Beaujolais appellations, producing white, red, and rosé wines. There are no industrial recipes here: the vines are grassed, and the soils are naturally nourished with vine shoot mulch to preserve microbial life and ecosystem balance.
This respectful approach was recognized with the HVE (High Environmental Value) certification in 2019. A concrete commitment, not a marketing label.
Morgon, Régnié… when Beaujolais gains depth
The wines of Domaine des Gaudets perfectly illustrate the famous Morgon saying: “The fruit of Beaujolais, the charm of Burgundy.”
These are fruity, approachable wines, yet with structure, backbone, and aging potential that often come as a surprise. Gamay is expressed with finesse, without caricature, offering substance and elegance.
The wines of Domaine des Gaudets
Beaujolais Blanc: A fresh and expressive cuvée, ideal for discovering the estate’s white wine style.
Régnié: Supple and generous, driven by fruit, perfect for convivial moments.
Morgon: More structured and deeper, this wine fully embodies the estate’s style.
Morgon Côte du Py: A wine of character from an iconic terroir, offering complexity, length, and strong aging potential.
Each wine is crafted for pleasure, but never at the expense of substance. These are wines to enjoy with both enthusiasm and meaning.
Why choose Domaine des Gaudets?
Because it is a true vigneron Beaujolais: authentic, respectful of nature, and capable of appealing both to lovers of fruity wines and to those seeking more depth. A discreet yet solid estate, without gimmicks—just honest wine.
