Based in the Centre-Loire, in the Coteaux du Giennois appellation, Domaine de Villargeau is the fruit of a family adventure built with patience, curiosity and respect for the living world.
The story begins in 1991, when Jean-Fernand and François, heirs to several generations of farmer-winegrowers, decided to bring old vine plots back to life. On these flint-marked hillsides, they immediately sensed the exceptional potential of Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard gradually grew and was enriched with the planting of Pinot Noir and Gamay, forming the emblematic trilogy of the Coteaux du Giennois.

A new generation at the helm, faithful to the spirit of the place
The estate is today led by Marc, Yves and Christophe, three winegrowers with complementary backgrounds, united by one shared vision of wine.
Marc joined the estate in 2002 after experiences in Burgundy, the Languedoc and New Zealand. From the vine to the cellar, from winemaking to sales, Villargeau has become the heart of his passion.
Yves arrived in 2016, with an atypical background combining farming, biodiversity and human projects abroad. He brings a strong ecological sensibility and actively contributes to the evolution of environmental practices.
Christophe an agricultural engineer, built his experience in Bordeaux, Champagne and then the Centre-Loire, notably in the production of Sauvignon vine plants. He joined Villargeau in 2020, completing a young, committed trio deeply rooted in its terroir.
The founders Jean-Fernand and François, while stepping back, remain present and involved in the major directions of the estate, guardians of the memory and DNA of Villargeau.
The Coteaux du Giennois, a confidential and singular terroir
Still discreet but fast-growing, the Coteaux du Giennois appellation stands out for a rare diversity of soils: flint, clay-limestone and marl. These terroirs give the wines a fresh and mineral identity, particularly marked on Sauvignon Blanc, which expresses great aromatic precision here.
Domaine de Villargeau strives to reveal this richness through meticulous work in the vineyard and respectful winemaking, combining modern techniques and traditional know-how. Whites, reds and rosés share the same guiding line: balance, readability and pleasure.
