For three generations, the Bonzoms-Briu family has been producing exceptional Roussillon wines at Domaine de Vézian, located in the south of France, between the Mediterranean Sea and Mont Canigou. This family-owned winery combines tradition, modernity, and respect for the terroir, offering authentic cuvées that reflect the unique identity of the Aspres region.

History and Heritage of Domaine de Vézian

Domaine de Vézian was acquired in 1919 by Albert Léonce Marie Philippe, Baron d’Albénas, and remained in his family until 1972. In February 1972, Joseph Bonzoms, father of Marie-José Bonzoms and grandfather of Julie and Fanny Briu, took over the estate. He replanted a wide variety of grape varieties while preserving a plot of old Carignan noir vines, planted in 1945 by the women of the estate.

Since 1990, Marie-José and Guy Briu have managed the estate with their daughter Julie, combining family know-how and modern techniques. From 2000, the estate adopted sustainable and reasoned viticulture, with minimal pruning to produce concentrated, fruity, and top-quality grapes. In 2015, the estate received the Origine France Garantie label, ensuring the quality and French origin of its wines.

An Exceptional Vineyard in the Heart of the Aspres

Located in the commune of Ponteilla, Domaine de Vézian’s 30-hectare vineyard stretches over clay-limestone and stony soils, enriched by erosion from the surrounding massifs. These rolling terroirs of Roussillon’s Aspres provide ideal conditions for growing vines and producing high-quality red, white, and rosé wines.

The practice of minimal pruning and sustainable viticulture reduces chemical treatments, promoting wines that respect both the environment and consumers.

Rosé wines: Pinot, Grenache noir, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Carignan
