Domaine de la Belière – The Art of Cerdon Wine, Between Tradition and Nature
A Family Estate in the Heart of Bugey.Nestled in the rolling hills of Bugey, between Lyon and Geneva, Domaine de la Belière embodies the family passion of Céline and Gaël Ronger, a brother and sister united by their love for the vine. Here, every grape tells a story — one of sustainable viticulture, respect for nature, and deep connection to the land. The estate covers 7.85 hectares spread across Saint-Martin-du-Mont, Bohas-Meyriat-Rignat, Ceyzériat, and Briord, at the foot of the Jura Mountains. The emblematic Gamay and Poulsard grapes of Cerdon grow alongside Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Altesse, creating a beautiful diversity of authentic wines.
A Responsible and Committed Viticulture
For several years, Céline and Gaël have practiced sustainable viticulture, favoring natural grassing to preserve soil life and reduce chemical inputs. Their environmental commitment has been recognized through the HVE (High Environmental Value) certification — a guarantee of farming practices that respect biodiversity. Since 2022, the estate has been in conversion to organic farming, confirming their dedication to combining quality and respect for nature. Every step, from vine to bottle, is guided by a single goal: to create healthy, living, and sustainable wines in harmony with their terroir.
An Exceptional Terroir at the Foot of the Jura
The clay-limestone soils of Bugey, rich in minerals and benefiting from a temperate climate, allow local grape varieties to express their full potential. This geological diversity gives rise to elegant, fresh, and expressive organic wines from the Bugey. Each plot is carefully tended to reveal the fruit’s purity and the unique identity of this mountain terroir.
Cerdon – The Pride of Domaine de la Belière
The estate’s signature wine, Cerdon du Bugey, is a naturally sparkling rosé made using the ancestral method. Produced mainly from Gamay and Poulsard, it charms with its bright pink color, fine bubbles, and aromas of fresh red fruits. With its low alcohol content (8%), it’s ideal for aperitifs, desserts, or celebrations — perfectly balancing freshness, fruit, and lightness. The ancestral method relies on natural fermentation and bottle carbonation without added yeast or sugar. This traditional technique gives the wine its authentic character and unique aromatic finesse.
Authentic Wines: Whites, Reds, and Rosés
Beyond Cerdon, Domaine de la Belière offers a diverse range of wines: – White Wines: Roussette de Montagnieu, Chardonnay, Mont-July Blanc – Red Wines: Mont-July Rouge, Pinot Noir – Rosés: Rosé L’Imprévu – Sparkling Wines: Cerdon, Cerdon La Déserte, L’Étincelle Each cuvée reflects meticulous craftsmanship and a simple philosophy: expressing the terroir with honesty.
A Family Story and a Vision for the Future
Domaine de la Belière is above all a human and family adventure, carried forward by two passionate generations. Guided by a shared vision, Céline and Gaël are shaping a model of ethical viticulture where biodiversity, tradition, and innovation coexist in perfect harmony.
