A family estate handed down for 200 years
Domaine de l'Olivette is one of the oldest estates in Bandol. Originally a simple Provençal 'campagne' where wheat, olives, vegetables and vines were grown, it owes its name to the olive trees that once occupied the site.
Handed down within the same family since the 18th century, it has evolved over the generations. The creation of the Bandol appellation in 1941 marked a turning point: the vine became the heart of the estate, which quickly established itself as one of the pioneers of the AOC.
Modernity and respect for tradition
At Domaine de l'Olivette, to modernise never means to deny its identity. The harvest remains 100% by hand, followed by a meticulous double sorting to keep only the best grapes. A modern vat room ensures perfect temperature control, while the ageing cellar combines 30-to-50-hl foudres and 500 L half-muids to refine the wines with precision.
Every gesture is considered, every choice carries the same ambition: to preserve the typicity of Mourvèdre while offering elegant, digestible and deep wines.
Mourvèdre, the beating heart of the estate's wines
Mourvèdre is the king grape of Bandol, and l'Olivette expresses all its power. This demanding variety needs sun, wind and a land that tells its story. The result: characterful wines with noble tannins, refined structure, aromatic depth… and an ageing potential that impresses enthusiasts.
In the estate's reds, it gives this unique signature: controlled power, great finesse and a presence on the palate that lingers in the mind.
The Tradition cuvees: the pure expression of the terroir
With yields limited to 36 hl/ha, the Tradition cuvees reflect the estate's vision: simplicity, truth and elegance. The rosés and whites charm with their fine aromas and delicate structure.
The reds, a blend of Mourvèdre and Grenache, are aged 20 months in foudres: refined, authentic wines, built for immediate pleasure as much as for a few years of ageing.
The Cuvées Spéciales: selection and excellence
From the best plots, these cuvees offer an even more precise expression of Mourvèdre. The rosés, made with old Mourvèdre vines, become true gastronomic wines.
The reds, concentrated and finely crafted, show perfectly integrated tannins and a remarkable ageing potential. The old vintages testify to their incredible evolution.
