Domaine de Canta Rainette: authentic, environmentally respectful wines

Domaine de Canta Rainette - AOC Côtes de Provence in La Motte, a family estate since 1958

Domaine de Canta Rainette is a family Provençal estate of more than 30 hectares, in La Motte, in Côtes de Provence, owned by the Castellino family since 1958.

In La Motte, near Draguignan, Domaine de Canta Rainette has grown the vine as a family since 1958. Facing the Rocher de Roquebrune, on a hill swept by the Mistral, the Castellino family crafts authentic Provence rosés, whites and reds, respectful of the environment.

Owned by the Castellino family since 1958, Domaine de Canta Rainette is located in La Motte, in Provence, not far from Draguignan. After their uncles, Edouard and Denise Castellino took over the estate in 1990. After ten years working with a cooperative, they decided to create their own cellar in 2000 to make wines matching their tastes and standards.

Today, the vineyard spans more than 30 hectares, farmed with passion and family know-how.

An exceptional setting in the heart of Provence

The estate enjoys a privileged location, at the foot of a south/south-east facing hill, on the edge of the Vallée des Esclans. The quiet of the place, together with the sweeping view of the Rocher de Roquebrune, offers an ideal environment for viticulture.

This unique terroir, exposed to the Provençal sun and swept by the Mistral, favours optimal ripening of the grapes and gives the estate's wines their distinctive personality.

A modern cellar for quality wines

In 2006, the estate equipped itself with a modern, spacious cellar fitted with temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Every step of winemaking, from receiving the grapes to bottling, is carried out on site, ensuring authenticity and full control of the process.

The harvest, often done at night to preserve the freshness of the grapes, reflects the meticulous attention paid to every detail.

Intergenerational know-how

Domaine de Canta Rainette has passed on winegrowing know-how for more than 60 years. Edouard and Denise Castellino, joined by their sons Mathieu and Christophe, combine tradition and innovation. Mathieu, a qualified oenologist and agricultural engineer, brings modern techniques to complement the family's ancestral experience.

Innovation and creativity at the service of wine

Each year, the estate experiments with new grape varieties and winemaking methods. Since 2018, a Provençal sparkling wine has been made entirely on site using the Traditional Method, offering a 100% authentic product, independent of outside companies.

Environmentally respectful farming

Respecting the terroir guides every gesture at the estate: minimal use of plant-protection products, mechanical soil work where possible, and close monitoring of the vines to intervene only when necessary. These practices help protect the terroir, preserve biodiversity and produce balanced, expressive wines.
