Domaine du Crêt des Garanches – The Heritage of Brouilly and the Passion of a Winemaker
A Historic Estate in the Heart of Beaujolais. In Odenas, south of Mont Brouilly, Domaine du Crêt des Garanches continues a family winemaking tradition passed down since 1752. Today, Sylvie Dufaitre-Genin embodies this heritage with passion and precision. Across 11.6 hectares of Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc, she crafts authentic wines that reflect the richness of the terroir and the finesse of the Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly crus.
The granite and sandy soils, the mild climate, and the sunlit slopes provide ideal conditions for producing concentrated, balanced grapes. Each wine expresses the distinct identity of Beaujolais — freshness, elegance, and generosity.
Our Wines, Our Commitment - A Nature-Friendly Approach to Viticulture
For several years, Crêt des Garanches has been deeply committed to sustainable viticulture. Sylvie Dufaitre-Genin made the strong choice to eliminate insecticides entirely, favoring the natural regulation of flora and fauna.
Between the vineyard rows, wildflowers bloom freely, promoting biodiversity and ecological balance. Hares, pheasants, and bees thrive here in harmony. This balance between vine and nature is the secret to lively, pure, and expressive wines.
A High Environmental Value Estate
This commitment was recognized in 2020 with the High Environmental Value (HVE) Level 3 certification — the highest level of distinction. It confirms that the estate’s practices protect natural ecosystems, preserve biodiversity, and minimize environmental impact on soil, water, and air.
Crêt des Garanches thus represents a new generation of Beaujolais winemaking: responsible, committed, and deeply rooted in its land.
Wines with the Generous Character of Brouilly
The wines of the estate charm with their bright ruby color and aromas of red fruit and flowers. Their delicate balance between freshness and roundness reflects artisanal skill and respect for the fruit.
The Brouilly offers a supple texture, a fruity mouthfeel, and notes of raspberry and peony.
The Côte de Brouilly, more structured, reveals the depth of Mont Brouilly’s volcanic soil with hints of black cherry and gentle spice.
Each cuvée is aged on the estate under Sylvie’s attentive eye, allowing the full aromatic complexity of Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc to shine.
