Domaine Corne-Loup – The Excellence of Tavel and a Family Passion Since 1966
A Family Story Rooted in the Rhône Terroir
Founded in 1966 by Jacques Lafond, then just 22 years old, Domaine Corne-Loup was born from a simple desire: to produce authentic wines true to their terroir and their time. What began as a modest 3.5-hectare estate has today grown into a 42-hectare vineyard spread across the prestigious appellations of Tavel, Lirac, and Côtes-du-Rhône.
In 1985, Jacques’ daughter, Géraldine Lafond, joined the estate. With passion and precision, she brought a new energy to the domaine, marking a turning point in winemaking and elegance. Together, father and daughter have succeeded in combining tradition and modernity while preserving the identity of the great wines of the southern Rhône.
An Exceptional Vineyard in the Heart of the Southern Rhône
Domaine Corne-Loup stretches across a terroir of remarkable diversity:
- 25 hectares in Tavel, renowned for its powerful and structured rosés,
- 10 hectares in Lirac, producing both red and white wines,
- 5 hectares in Côtes-du-Rhône, where finesse and freshness shine.
The soils mix rounded pebbles, sand, and limestone typical of the Rhône Valley, giving the grape varieties – Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Clairette, and Bourboulenc – the perfect balance between ripeness and vibrancy.
Each parcel is carefully managed: harvesting at optimal maturity, rigorous sorting, and precise vinification to express the purity of the fruit and the typicity of the terroir.
Respect for Tradition and a Commitment to Quality
For over half a century, Domaine Corne-Loup has remained faithful to an artisanal philosophy based on respect for the vine and the pursuit of uncompromising quality. The wines are crafted using traditional methods while benefiting from modern oenological precision that ensures consistency and authenticity.
Each cuvée is the result of patient, meticulous work, revealing the richness of southern Rhône appellations and the passion of a family wholly devoted to its craft.
The Signature Cuvées of Domaine Corne-Loup
Domaine Corne-Loup – Tavel
The pure expression of Tavel: a structured and aromatic rosé blending ripe red fruits, spices, and floral notes. Round and persistent, it pairs beautifully with Mediterranean dishes and summer grills.
Domaine Corne-Loup – Lirac Red
An intense and generous cuvée dominated by Syrah and Grenache, offering a full-bodied mouthfeel, elegant tannins, and a long, spicy finish. A southern wine made for cellaring.
Cuvée du Gouverneur
A demanding parcel selection, concentrated and balanced. This wine enchants with its depth, aromas of blackberry, licorice, and garrigue, and its velvety texture. A prestige cuvée that embodies the essence of the family’s craftsmanship.
Domaine Corne-Loup – Lirac White
A bright, delicate, and floral white wine made from Clairette and Bourboulenc. Its citrus and white flower notes balance beautifully with a fresh, mineral finish — perfect as an aperitif or with grilled fish.
A Philosophy Focused on the Future
Today, Géraldine Lafond continues her father’s legacy with a sustainable vision: soil preservation, biodiversity respect, and the enhancement of family heritage. Domaine Corne-Loup stands as a key figure in Tavel and Lirac, combining ancestral know-how with modern precision.
