Domaine Clarmon - between vine, olive, and truffle oak: the soul of Minervois

Domaine Clarmon

A family Minervois estate in Tourouzelle, created in 1997 by the Josserands. 10 ha, organic since 2012, agroforestry. Grapes Carignan, Syrah, Grenache. Cuvees Clara, Collection Clarmon, L'Envolee.

A family story rooted in Languedoc. In the heart of Minervois, on the heights of the village of Tourouzelle, Domaine Clarmon embodies the union of passion, family, and terroir. Created in 1997 by Frederique and Denis Josserand, the estate takes its name from their two daughters, Clara and Manon, a tender nod to legacy and love of the land.

The first parcels were vinified at the local cooperative before the couple decided, in 2004, to build their own cellar. Since then, the estate has steadily grown, finding its balance between viticultural tradition and environmental commitment.

A 10-hectare vineyard in the Minervois appellation

The vineyard now covers over 10 hectares around Tourouzelle, at the heart of a typically Mediterranean landscape. Garrigue, pines, and broom intertwine with the vines, forming a living, harmonious ecosystem. The Minervois' clay-limestone soils, bathed in sun and caressed by sea breezes, host emblematic southern grape varieties: Carignan for structure and depth, Syrah for finesse and dark-fruit aromas, and Grenache for roundness and warmth. Part of the vineyard benefits from AOC Minervois designation, a guarantee of typicity and quality. The estate has been certified organic since 2012 and embraces agroforestry, promoting biodiversity and soil vitality.

Agricultural diversity and respect for life

Because land is more than vine, Domaine Clarmon chose to diversify its crops. An olive grove produces artisanal olive oil with the same care given to the vines. In 2006, one hectare of truffle oaks was planted, a promise of aromatic harvests and rare sensory experiences. This diversification reflects the estate's philosophy: cultivating the land in all its dimensions, with patience, respect, and curiosity.

The art of winemaking: between modernity and sensibility

Since the creation of the cellar in 2004, then its modernization in 2018, every wine has been vinified and aged on site. Harvests are largely manual, grapes carefully sorted, and fermentations natural, to preserve the Minervois terroir's identity. Domaine Clarmon's wines charm by their balance and elegance. They express the personality of this Languedoc land where sun, stone, and wind shape wines of character, powerful yet fresh.
