Domaine Chollet, tradition, terroir and authenticity in Pouilly-sur-Loire

Domaine Chollet

A family estate of 14 hectares in Pouilly-sur-Loire, at the heart of the Pouilly-Fumé and Pouilly-sur-Loire appellations, since 1960. Three generations, Sauvignon Blanc and Chasselas. Certified Organic (AB) and Biodynamic (Demeter) since 2025.

Located in Pouilly-sur-Loire, Domaine Chollet spans 14 hectares within two prestigious appellations: Pouilly-Fumé and Pouilly-sur-Loire. Since 1960, three generations of the Chollet family have shaped wines faithful to their land, driven by the same demand: to preserve the identity of the terroir while developing the estate with intelligence and modernity. Today, the estate is run by Gilles Chollet, with his wife Valérie and their son Séverin, back after his studies in Beaune; his sister Milène handles management and sales.

A story of transmission and progress

The story begins with Roland Chollet, the grandfather, who created the estate from scratch. A visionary and tireless worker, he planted his first vines and made his own cuvees. In 1980, his son Gilles joined him: father and son expanded the estate, bought new terroirs and reinforced the quality of the wines. In 1989, after Roland's death, Valérie in turn joined the estate, bringing her energy and know-how. The next generation is now ensured by Séverin, in charge of the vine and winemaking, and Milène, sales manager. A close-knit family, where tradition, rigour and open-mindedness form a precious balance.

A strong commitment: Organic Agriculture and Biodynamics

Keen to preserve their environment and cultivate the vine in the most natural way possible, the Chollets obtained in 2025 the Organic Agriculture (AB) and Biodynamics (DEMETER) labels. This approach reinforces their philosophy: to produce living, precise, sincere wines that tell the truth of their soils. The Chollet style is the purity, minerality and elegance of the great Pouilly terroirs.

The Chollet style: purity, minerality and elegance

The estate's wines fully express the character of the Pouilly terroirs: limestone soils, bright caillottes, deep white earths and light sands. Sauvignon Blanc, the king grape of Pouilly-Fumé, reveals sapidity, tension, citrus notes, exotic touches and a typical smoky minerality, sought after around the world. Domaine Chollet cultivates a simple philosophy: to listen to the vine, respect nature, enhance each terroir. The result: straight, luminous wines, full of energy, that reflect the best of Pouilly-sur-Loire.
