Domaine Beyer – Authentic Alsace Wines and a Family Estate in Organic Conversion

A Family Legacy for Over a Century. Founded in 1913, Domaine Beyer has been cultivating vines in the heart of Alsace for more than 100 years. From one generation to the next, the Beyer family has shaped this 10-hectare estate, spread across five communes: Epfig, Dambach-la-Ville, Itterswiller, Eichhoffen, and Bernardvillé.

Established by Xavier Beyer, the estate was passed down through Jean and then Patrick, before welcoming Mathieu Beyer in 2001. Bringing new energy, he created emblematic cuvées such as the Crémant d’Alsace and the Sylvaner Douceur d’Automne, multiple award-winners at the Sylvaner du Monde competition. Since 2019, the estate has been undergoing organic conversion, further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and wine quality.

Diverse Terroirs, Source of Complexity

Alsace’s geological richness gives Domaine Beyer a unique palette of soils – granite, limestone, clay, schist, and sandstone. This diversity allows the traditional Alsace grape varieties to flourish harmoniously.

  • Pflanzer terroir: south-facing sandy and stony soils, giving Rieslings precise and authentic aromas.
  • Bernardvillé: a rare volcanic terroir rich in schist, producing fresh, structured, and characterful wines.

A Sustainable and Respectful Viticulture

Respect for nature lies at the heart of the Beyer family’s philosophy. Since 2019, the entire estate has been farmed organically.

  • Certified HVE (High Environmental Value).
  • No synthetic products: mechanical weeding, gentle plowing, hoeing, regular manual work (trellising, thinning, leaf removal).
  • Manual harvesting to preserve grape integrity.

Winemaking remains faithful to Alsatian tradition, using century-old oak casks that bring purity and authenticity to the wines.

A Collection of Authentic Alsace Wines

Domaine Beyer offers a complete range of elegant, dry, and fruity Alsace wines, all made from grapes grown without synthetic chemicals:

  • White wines: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer.
  • Pinot Noir and Rosé: finesse and generosity.
  • Late Harvest: a rich, expressive Gewurztraminer.
  • Crémants d’Alsace: Crémant Blanc and Crémant Rosé, crafted in the traditional method, offering freshness and finesse.

Tradition, Expertise, and a Sustainable Future

For over a century, Domaine Beyer has perfectly embodied the balance between winemaking tradition, innovation, and respect for nature. Every bottle reflects the passion of an independent family of winemakers, proud of their heritage and committed to a sustainable future.
