A distillery in Haute-Provence
Born in the heart of Sault, the capital of lavender, Distillerie Le Vadrouilleur draws on the richness of the high Vaucluse plateau. The village is renowned for its Lavender Festival, an annual event on 15 August. The ambition is simple and demanding: to provide quality spirits, artisanal and authentic, made from local plants, true to the identity of Haute-Provence.
The Gin Mistello and the family story
Inspired by the maquis and the lavender fields, the Gin Mistello captures the aromas and flavours of the high Vaucluse plateau. Behind it stands a Provencal family with a distilling past, specialised in lavender essential oils, with 30 years of know-how. From renowned truffle merchants to the first fine-wine cellar and homemade lemonade, craftsmanship has always been present in the family.
The latest generation then spent 20 years wandering abroad, soaking up different cultures and discovering spirits. In the end, Distillerie Le Vadrouilleur was born to return to its roots, with a single goal in mind: to provide a true local gin, inspired by the Ventoux, the Giant of Provence.
The distillery's range
Around the Mistello Gin, the distillery offers a range of Provence liqueurs, made from local aromatic plants. Each bottle carries the same idea: to capture a fragrance of the South in an artisan spirit.
Mistello Gin
Provence gin - 43% vol, 70 cl, organic lavender
The signature gin: carried by organic lavender, it opens on floral notes before accents of citrus and warm spices. Inspired by the maquis and the high Vaucluse plateau, a tribute to the Ventoux, the Giant of Provence.
Bigarrado
Provence orange liqueur - 20% vol, 70 cl
A moreish Provencal liqueur made with orange, round and fragrant; to enjoy as a digestif, on ice or in a cocktail.
Bonis Erbo
Provence liqueurs - mint (19% vol, 50 cl) and verbena (35.6% vol, 50 cl)
The distillery's herb range: a fresh mint liqueur and a verbena liqueur, two Provencal classics made from aromatic plants, best served well chilled.
