Clos des Constellations: Passion, Heritage, and Terroir of the Pyrénées-Orientales
An adventure born from a passion and a winemaking heritage: It was in Lesquerde, a small perched village in the Pyrénées-Orientales, that Clos des Constellations came to life. It all began when, while visiting the village’s old cooperative cellar, Sébastien and Julia fell in love with the place. The site resonated with history, stone, and winemaking memory.
Sébastien was not yet a winemaker, but in his veins flowed the memory of his grandfather, a winemaker in the Aspres, near Thuir, the homeland of the famous Byrrh. This ancestral knowledge, dormant for years, was reignited by the contact with the vines and the soil.
Thus was born the project of a confidential and family estate, where every gesture, every bunch of grapes, pays tribute to tradition and passion.
“Each bottle is a testimony to the terroir, time, and passion we dedicate to it.”
— Sébastien, owner and winemaker of Clos des Constellations
A philosophy: wine, above all, as an experience to share
At Clos des Constellations, the vineyard is cultivated with patience and rigor. Natural cycles are respected, soils preserved, and every intervention is guided by a simple idea: to reveal the soul of the terroir.
The plots, often saved from abandonment, demonstrate a strong commitment to preserving local viticultural heritage and combating massive uprooting.
Each vine is a star in the estate’s constellation, carrying its history and character.
The cuvées of Clos des Constellations
Orion – Red Wine: Powerful and generous, Orion reveals notes of ripe fruits and soft spices. It pairs ideally with red meats, game, or sauced dishes, as well as aged Comté cheese.
Orion Altitude 1789m – Red Wine: From high-altitude vines, this wine offers an elegant structure and a beautiful length on the palate. To be enjoyed with strong-flavored dishes: game, braised beef, or aged cheeses.
Pégase – Rosé Wine: Bright and expressive rosé, Pégase evokes Mediterranean sunshine and the freshness of the Catalan wind. Perfect as an aperitif, with spicy dishes, red mullet, or grilled salmon.
Persée – White Wine: Delicate and balanced, Persée unfolds aromas of white flowers, dried fruits, and fresh mushrooms. It pairs wonderfully with risottos, poultry, fish, or blue cheeses.
Centaure – Red Wine: Centaure is a festive wine: full-bodied, round, and harmonious. It goes well with the finest meats and enhances special occasion meals.
Cassiopée – Red Wine: Lighter, Cassiopeia charms with its smoothness and fruity notes. It perfectly accompanies lamb, foie gras, or refined bistro cuisine.
Rare and historic cuvées of the estate
Quadrantides – Rivesaltes Hors d’Âge: A treasure discovered in a sealed vat during cellar renovation work, this exceptional cuvée is believed to have been vinified before World War II. With rare aromatic richness, it evokes the living memory of the village and the wine.
Perséides – Amber Natural Sweet Wine: Aged in French oak barrels according to the solera method, this natural sweet wine seduces with aromas of honey, dried fruits, and hazelnut. Ideal at the end of a meal, with goat cheese, chocolate desserts, or the famous Catalan rousquilles.
Dame-Jeanne Perséides – 5L: A large-format version of Perséides, to share on special occasions. Same meticulous work, same patience, same magic of time.
