Clos de Noël: A Family Story and a Living Terroir in the Heart of the Dordogne

A Family Estate Guided by Two Generations. Clos de Noël is a small family estate where two generations now work hand in hand: Michelle and Thierry Eynard, together with their children Pierrick and Yohan. For many years, the family cultivated their vines and sold their wine to merchants. Everything changed in 2018, when Yohan and his partner decided to bottle their own cuvées. A new adventure began, driven by the pride of finally revealing the soul of their terroir.

A Vineyard Shaped by the Diversity of Dordogne Soils

Located in Faurilles, between Issigeac and Villeréal, the estate covers 16 hectares divided into two main parcels. The vineyard rests mostly on clay-limestone soils, punctuated in places by “TRAN,” a highly stony soil typical of the region — ideal for producing structured, expressive wines.

The family cultivates a wide range of grape varieties:

• Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc — the historical foundations of the vineyard,
• Côt (Malbec), Gros Manseng and Chardonnay since 2019, adding new aromatic dimensions,
• Syrah and Prunelard, planted in 2022, further enriching the estate’s diversity.

This varietal richness allows Clos de Noël to craft wines that are both authentic and modern, faithfully reflecting their Southern French terroir.

A Responsible and Living Agriculture

The Eynard family practices reasoned, respectful viticulture. Working every second row helps rainwater infiltrate more deeply, promoting strong root development and deeper terroir expression.

Under the rows, mechanical cultivation replaces chemical products, while the introduction of plant cover enriches the soils and supports biodiversity.

This thoughtful, patient approach produces sincere, balanced wines that vibrate with their origins.
