Château Mauvinon: an organic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru shaped by a family and the living world

Château Mauvinon

A family estate in Saint-Émilion, 6.5 hectares exclusively in AOC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. In organic farming since 2017 and run biodynamically, with some cuvees without added sulphites. Precise, elegant and living Saint-Émilion wines, made in confidential quantities, from vine to glass.

In Saint-Émilion, some estates seek neither volume nor fashion. Château Mauvinon is one of those rare properties where wine is above all a story of family, of long time and of deep respect for nature.

A family history emblematic of Saint-Émilion

The adventure began in 1962, when Claude Tribaudeau acquired the property. A visionary, he lastingly marked the appellation and created the emblematic two-unicorn label, which became the soul of the estate. In 1990, his children Philippe and Brigitte Tribaudeau took over: Philippe left the Bordeaux bar to devote himself fully to the vineyard, Brigitte, trained as a scientist in molecular biology, brought a fine reading of the living world and natural balances. Today, the new generation works alongside them, ensuring a smooth, coherent and sincere transmission.

An organic and biodynamic vineyard at the heart of Saint-Émilion

The estate covers 6.5 hectares, exclusively in AOC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. Each plot is worked with precision, patience and humility. Committed to organic farming since 2017, the vineyard is also run according to biodynamic principles, with a holistic approach based on living soils, controlled yields and constant observation of the vine. Some cuvees are vinified without added sulphites, to let the terroir express itself without a filter: the wine is never forced, it is accompanied, listened to and respected.

A human-scale property, from vine to glass

The 19th-century buildings house the family home, the vinification cellar and the ageing cellar. Everything is done on site, without intermediary. This total mastery allows a great stylistic coherence: precise, elegant, living Saint-Émilion wines, true to their origin. Beyond wine, Château Mauvinon is actively committed to biodiversity, notably with Le Nichoir, a rooftop terrace dedicated to bird observation, a reminder that the quality of a wine begins in the balance of its ecosystem.
