In Arbanats, at the heart of the Graves appellation, Château Mamin lies on a distinctive terroir of alluvial gravel, locally known as “Le Caillou.” This warm, well-drained, sunlit soil provides ideal conditions for the vine. Historical maps from the 18th century already reference this land, a reminder that vines have been cultivated here for generations.

The Project of a Committed Winemaker

In 1991, Vincent Lataste took over the estate with a clear vision: to restore coherence and vitality to the vineyard. He restructured the property into a continuous plot, cultivated as a complete and living ecosystem. The choice to plant a majority of Merlot (80%) was deliberate: on this terroir, the grape reveals a velvety, generous and harmonious character, typical of Graves.

A Strong Environmental Commitment: Organic & Vegan

Château Mamin is certified Organic. The estate avoids synthetic products, preserves soil life, encourages microbial diversity and protects biodiversity over the long term. But the commitment goes further: the wines are vegan, meaning that no animal-derived products are used during vinification, including fining. The result: clear, honest and expressive wines where the grape and terroir speak without interference.
