Château Lauzade: Wine Estate and AOP Côtes de Provence Wines

In the heart of Provence’s wine country, Château Lauzade is an estate where history, nature and vineyards have come together for centuries.

Located in a preserved natural environment, the estate draws its identity from a remarkable heritage: an 18th-century fountain that is still flowing today, symbolizing the many natural springs that cross this unique site.

The story of Château Lauzade actually goes back much further. Remains of a Roman villa dating from 46 BC already attest to the presence of vineyards on these Provençal lands. Later, in the 18th century, the estate became an important postal relay connecting villages throughout the Var region.

Today, Château Lauzade continues this legacy by combining traditional viticulture with modern techniques, with one simple goal: producing elegant, authentic Provence wines that faithfully reflect their terroir.

All the cuvées are made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate, ensuring full control from vineyard to cellar.

An Exceptional Terroir in the Heart of the Côtes de Provence

The Château Lauzade vineyard covers 45 hectares in the Côtes de Provence appellation, set in a typically Mediterranean landscape.

The soils are composed of clay and sandy deposits from the Permian period, recognizable by their distinctive red color known as “lie de vin.” These rich soils produce wines that are structured, fruity and balanced.

Protected by the Maures Massif and the hills of the Upper Var, the estate benefits from an ideal microclimate for vine growing. Numerous natural springs on the property also contribute to the vineyard’s natural water balance.

The estate cultivates several emblematic grape varieties of Provence:

Grenache
Cinsault
Syrah
Rolle
Sémillon
Cabernet Sauvignon
Mourvèdre

Each parcel is carefully managed to express the richness of the terroir in every vintage.

Harvesting takes place early in the morning when temperatures are cooler, helping preserve the grapes’ aromatic purity.
