Vignobles Lascaux: a family story of transmission and Bordeaux convictions

Founded in 1920, Vignobles Lascaux tell above all a story of family transmission and deep loyalty to the land. Two estates, two appellations, one shared philosophy: to produce sincere, approachable wines that are firmly rooted in their terroir.

The vineyard is structured around two complementary properties:

Château Lascaux, located in Saint-Martin-du-Bois, in the Bordeaux appellation

Château Tour Bel-Air, in Saillans, in the Fronsac appellation, on hillsides renowned for their strong character

A family adventure in constant evolution

In 1998, Fabrice Lascaux and his wife Sylvie took over the family estate, which at the time covered just 4 hectares of vines. Driven by the desire to build a solid and sustainable project, they gradually expanded the vineyard through new plantings and successive acquisitions.

The year 2007 marked a new milestone with the integration of Château Tour Bel-Air, an estate belonging to Sylvie’s family. Today, Vignobles Lascaux span 33 hectares of vineyards, shared between Bordeaux and Fronsac, offering a complete and representative range of Bordeaux wines.

A hillside terroir with natural advantages

Planted at elevation on well-exposed ridgelines, the vines benefit from ideal conditions for even and high-quality ripening.

More than 80% of the vineyard is planted on steep clay-limestone slopes, providing:

efficient natural drainage

optimal sun exposure

excellent aromatic concentration in the grapes

The soils, combining clay, limestone, gravel and sand, bring structure, finesse and balance to the wines, whether red, white or sparkling.

Iconic Bordeaux grape varieties

Vignobles Lascaux cultivate grape varieties that are true to Bordeaux’s identity.

Red wines (30 ha)

Merlot (80%): roundness, fruit and suppleness

Cabernet Sauvignon (13.5%): structure and length

Cabernet Franc (6.5%): freshness and aromatic finesse

White wines (3 ha)

Sauvignon Gris (61%): complexity and breadth

Sauvignon Blanc (32%): liveliness and freshness

Muscadelle (7%): floral notes and elegance

This diversity makes it possible to produce red wines, dry whites, rosé, clairet and even a Crémant de Bordeaux, covering every moment of enjoyment.

A strong environmental commitment

Fully aware of the richness of their terroir, Vignobles Lascaux have chosen a responsible and sustainable approach to viticulture.

Since 2020, the estate has been certified HVE – High Environmental Value level 3, a strong recognition of its practices.

In practical terms:

strictly limited chemical interventions

natural grass cover between rows to prevent erosion

active protection of biodiversity, including insects, micro-organisms and soil life

Here, the vine is not exploited—it is supported.

Bordeaux wines made for pleasure and sharing

The cuvées of Vignobles Lascaux stand out for their approachability, balance and faithfulness to the Bordeaux style.

From fruity Bordeaux wines to more structured Fronsac expressions, including clairet and crémant, each wine is designed to be easy to understand, generous and authentic, without artifice.
