Château La Forêt: Laurence & Hervé Borie, winegrowers in the Périgord
At the southern edge of the Purple Périgord, on the border of Lot-et-Garonne, Laurence and Hervé Borie cultivate more than vines. They cultivate a territory.
Welcome to Château La Forêt, a family estate rooted in the Périgord tradition of mixed farming and fully committed to producing authentic, generous and fruit-driven Bergerac wines.
A family estate between vines and terroir
At the beginning of the 20th century, the estate counted only 4 hectares of vineyards. Today, it covers 60 hectares while preserving its family spirit.
In 1998, Hervé took over the property passed down by his parents. In 2011, Laurence, a trained oenologist from the Bordeaux region, joined him.
Their shared vision is clear: to craft ultra-fruity, approachable and precise wines that fully express the Bergerac terroir.
Mixed farming, the DNA of Château La Forêt
Here, wine is not the only activity.
The vineyard remains central:
Grape production
On-site vinification
Aging
Bottling and packaging
But the Périgord tradition of mixed farming is still alive:
Cereals: Wheat, barley, triticale, sunflower, soybean, sorghum—grown on parcels less suited to vines.
Agen prunes: Since 2015, a plum orchard has complemented the estate. The plums are processed into semi-dried prunes by a partner specialist.
Périgord walnuts: Between 2019 and 2023, 10 hectares of walnut trees (Lara, Chandler, Fernor) were planted. The first harvests began in autumn 2025.
A living, diversified agriculture deeply anchored in its region.
The Wines of Château La Forêt – AOC Bergerac
Terre d’Innocence – Bergerac Red: The roundest wine in the range. Mainly Merlot, it charms with its softness and immediate fruit expression.
2022 vintage: an explosion of ripe red fruits, supple and generous on the palate. Ideal with pizza, grilled meats and cheese. Aging potential: 2 to 3 years.
Château La Forêt – Bergerac Red: The core cuvée. Blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Powerful, generous, fruity and spicy.
2021 vintage: fleshy and intense, Gold Medal Paris 2022.
2022 vintage: elegant and silky, Bronze Medal Paris 2023. Aging potential: 4 to 6 years.
L’Évidence – Oaked Bergerac Red: The signature cuvée aged 18 months in oak. Cabernet Sauvignon harvested at optimal ripeness, powerful structure and smooth tannins.
2020 vintage: black fruits, toasted notes, richness and depth.
2022 vintage: intense and harmonious, available in bottle, magnum and customizable double magnum.
Gold Medal Paris 2022. Aging potential: 6 to 8 years.
Château La Forêt – Bergerac Dry (Sauvignon)
A true aromatic explosion. Pink grapefruit, lemon and citron, with a vibrant finish balanced by aging on fine lees.
2024 vintage: Silver Medal Vinalies 2025.
2022 vintage: Gold Medal Concours Général Agricole 2023.
Perfect as an aperitif, with oysters or fish. Aging potential: 2 years.
Château La Forêt – Bergerac Rosé (Malbec): An airy and indulgent rosé. Salmon-pink color, wild strawberry and blood orange aromas, crisp freshness.
2024 vintage: elegant and dry, beautifully rounded on the palate. Multiple medals at national competitions.
Aging potential: 1 to 2 years.
Côtes de Bergerac Sweet: Sauvignon harvested at full ripeness, complemented by a touch of Sémillon.
2024 vintage: subtle balance (37 g/L), notes of peach, apricot and citrus.
2022 vintage: 1 star in the Guide Hachette.
Perfect with foie gras, blue cheese or desserts. Aging potential: 1 to 2 years.
Les Grains Oubliés – Sweet Cuvée: A unique story. In 2012, a few rows of Cabernet Sauvignon forgotten on the vine gave birth to an atypical sweet wine, between red and rosé, reaching 15% alcohol.
Enjoy chilled as an aperitif.
Vintage Version
Aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years. A style reminiscent of a “Périgord Porto,” without fortification, vinified like a great dessert wine. A rare and surprising cuvée.

Sincere wines
Fruit-driven expression
Controlled production
Agriculture deeply rooted in the Périgord
Laurence brings oenological precision. Hervé brings intimate knowledge of the family land.
