Located at the gates of the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne, Chateau Jaron is a family wine estate cultivated with constancy for four generations. Here, the vine is not a backdrop: it is a story of transmission, patience and assumed choices.
In 1994, Philippe Liberatore took over the reins of the family estate. Four years later, he partnered with Caroline Comin, giving birth to the Vignobles Comin-Liberatore. Together, they breathed a new dynamic into the estate, between respect for the past and a vision turned towards the future.
Today, the vineyard stretches over 40 hectares, spread across four villages: Landerrouat, Soussac, Saint-Antoine-du-Queyret and Pellegrue. The vines, on average 30 years old, form a living heritage, shaped by time and the work of people.

A demanding terroir that shapes the style of the wines
The vines of Chateau Jaron root in clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soils. These demanding terroirs force the vine to dig deep to find freshness and moisture during the hot summers.
From this demand come ripe, dense and concentrated grapes, at the origin of generous and balanced wines. On the nose, the aromas evoke crushed strawberry and candied raspberry. On the palate, the tannins are supple, ripe and harmonious.
Wines of character, naturally at ease with a rib of beef, a leg of lamb or Mediterranean-accented dishes.
Innovate without betraying: ageing the wine in a jar
In 2013, Philippe and Caroline began a new adventure: ageing the wine in a jar. After many exchanges with their oenologist, the meeting with a potter and a rigorous selection of plots, the project took shape. After twelve months of meticulous monitoring, the Giara cuvee was born in 2016.
Inspired by ancient practices, the jar allows a natural micro-oxygenation, without aromatic input from wood. It acts as a neutral setting, revealing the purity of the fruit and the finesse of the matter.
The jars, with a capacity of 140 to 150 litres, are hand-thrown, ovoid in shape, favouring subtle exchanges between the wine and the oxygen. A precision tool, in the service of elegance.
Absolument Tannat: a controlled power
In 2020, a new grape entered the scene: Tannat, also aged 12 months in the jar. The Absolument Tannat cuvee reveals an intense and controlled expression, marked by aromas of black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant.
A deep and structured wine, ideal to accompany robust dishes or simply for the pleasure of a great red of character.
