Powerful, rich and generous wines. Between the Gironde and the Charente-Maritime, the Vignobles Terrigeol benefit from an exceptional terroir, bathed by the Gironde estuary. On the right bank, the clay-gravelly soils and the maritime influences favour the birth of wines that are at once powerful, elegant and generous.
The estate, spread over 88 hectares, produces a complete range: red and white wines of Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux, Pineau des Charentes and artisanal Cognacs, a reflection of a family know-how passed down over several generations.

A family saga of passion and transmission
The story begins in 1964, with the marriage of Annick Maillet and Jean-Pierre Terrigeol, bringing together two neighbouring vineyards with distinct characters. From this union was born a common project: to unite the passion for the vine and to bring to life two strong identities, the Blaye wines in the Gironde and the eaux-de-vie in the Charente-Maritime.
In the 1980s, Annick and Jean-Pierre took a decisive turn: the first bottling at the property and the start of direct sales. Wine fairs and shows then became the playground of this family of winegrowers, proud to present their cuvees across France.
Their son Christophe took over the running of the vineyard, modernised the estate and introduced new cuvees. In 1998, he installed a Charentais still, making it possible to distil the estate's wines directly and to create the first Terrigeol Cognacs: a revolution. Today, the succession is assured: Quentin, passionate about winemaking, and Nathan, a business graduate, carry on this family adventure, each bringing their energy and their vision.
Château des Matards: the soul of the Blaye wines
Chateau des Matards brings together 60 hectares of vines in AOC Blaye and Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux.
Red grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, which express the structure and depth of the sandy-gravelly and clay-limestone terroirs.
White grapes: Sauvignon, Muscadelle, Semillon, Merlot Blanc and Colombard, for fresh, aromatic wines, both tender and lively.
Domaine de la Margotterie: the cradle of Pineau and Cognac
Over 28 hectares, Domaine de la Margotterie is devoted to the production of AOC Pineau des Charentes and AOC Cognac. Ugni Blanc, the king grape of the Charentais eaux-de-vie, dominates at 80%, bringing finesse, acidity and ageing potential. The Merlots Blancs and Colombards give the Pineaux an intense and luminous aromatic personality. The clay-siliceous soils, dense and rich in minerals, add complexity and roundness to these spirits of character.
The climate and the terroirs: the generosity of the estuary
With more than 240 days of sunshine a year, the vineyards enjoy a temperate climate, ideal for a slow, regular ripening of the grapes. The maritime influence of the estuary gives the wines freshness, balance and aromatic complexity, making each vintage unique.
