Charles Ricome, great-grandfather of today's owners, was a regional pioneer when, in 1955, he planted Syrah vines, with the goal of producing superior wines by favouring quality over quantity.

The transition to organic farming
In 2009, brothers Basile and Nicolas Ricome decided to convert the estate to organic farming, an ambitious approach aimed at producing wines free of chemical residues.
This transition reflects the estate's commitment to a viticulture respectful of the environment, while preserving the quality of its wines.
The wines of Château de Valcombe
The estate is renowned for its Costières de Nîmes appellation, benefiting from a unique terroir of rolled pebbles, Durance alluvium and Rhône gravels. The red wines are made mainly from Syrah, accompanied by Grenache and Mourvèdre, for powerful and fruity wines.
Château de Valcombe also produces white wines since 2005, with Roussanne as the main grape, giving wines of great finesse and freshness. Other grapes such as Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Rolle (Vermentino) complete the range, offering elegant, balanced and lingering wines.
