Château de Valcombe – The History and Excellence of the Estate

An Exceptional Winegrowing Heritage Between Provence and Languedoc. Château de Valcombe benefits from the remarkable terroirs of Southeastern France, located between Provence and Languedoc in Générac (30). This historic estate holds a rich winegrowing legacy, with vines planted as early as the 1750s. Charles Ricome, great-grandfather of the current owners, was a regional pioneer in 1955 when he introduced Syrah with a clear ambition: producing high-quality wines.

A Bold Transition to Organic Farming

In 2009, brothers Basile and Nicolas Ricome chose to convert the estate to organic farming. Their goal was to craft wines free of chemical residues while protecting the soils and surrounding environment. This transition marked a major turning point in the estate’s history and reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable viticulture.

The Wines of Château de Valcombe

The estate is renowned for its Costières de Nîmes appellation, rooted in a unique terroir composed of rolled pebbles, Durance alluvium and Rhône gravel. The red wines are primarily produced from Syrah, complemented by Grenache and Mourvèdre, offering powerful, fruity and elegant expressions.

Since 2005, Château de Valcombe has also produced white wines, with Roussanne as the main grape variety. Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Rolle (Vermentino) enrich the range, delivering wines that are fine, fresh, balanced and persistent.

A Unique Terroir for Elegant and Expressive Wines

Château de Valcombe benefits from an ideal terroir where every grape variety can express its full potential. The wines stand out for their freshness, elegance and length, making each bottle an authentic and refined discovery.
