Château de Rhodes: A Family Estate in the Heart of the AOC Gaillac
Situated on the sunny slopes of the right bank of the Tarn River, Château de Rhodes spans 25 hectares cultivated organically. Since 2010, the Lépine family has been dedicated to producing organic Gaillac wines that reveal the richness of a millennial terroir. Indigenous grape varieties, respect for the soil, ecological practices, and authenticity guide every step from pruning to bottling.
Within the AOC Gaillac, one of France’s oldest wine regions, we highlight historic varieties such as Mauzac, Duras, and Fer Servadou, grown without chemicals or herbicides. Soil work, natural fertilizers, and treatments using copper, sulfur, or essential oils ensure vine vitality and grape purity. Our wines regularly earn awards at national competitions (Vignerons Indépendants, Mâcon, Concours Général Agricole), reflecting their quality and our commitment to sustainability.
Natural, Genuine, and Vibrant Wines True to the Gaillac Terroir
Our natural winemaking involves no added yeasts and takes place in painted concrete vats for gentle temperature control. Reds are aged 1 to 2 years before being refined in bottles within an exceptional vaulted underground cellar built with Toulouse bricks. No unnecessary fining, minimal sulfur, and light filtration, every action aims to preserve the wine’s sincerity. Our range showcases the terroir’s diversity: full-bodied reds, fresh and fruity whites, and a naturally sparkling Méthode Ancestrale that delights with its lightness and aromatic expression. Château de Rhodes is more than just a vineyard, it is a living place where tradition, innovation, and respect for life come together.
A must-visit for lovers of organic wines and authentic South-West French vintages !
