An estate steeped in history and a unique terroir
Founded in the 13th century and turned into a wine estate in 1765 by the Marquis d'Espinay de Laye, Château de Champ-Renard is steeped in history. It sits on a unique terroir at 320 metres of altitude, facing South-East, where siliceous, clay-limestone and granitic soils coexist. The 7.5-hectare vineyard is planted with emblematic Beaujolais-Villages varieties, notably Gamay and Gamaret for the reds, as well as Chardonnay for the whites. Thanks to the diversity of the soils and a respectful viticulture, the wines offer a rich aromatic palette, between red fruits and floral notes.
An eco-responsible approach and distinguished wines
The estate has chosen sustainable viticulture: certified HVE level 3 and Terra Vitis, and in organic conversion. Its wines are certified vegan, made without chaptalisation or added sulfites and aged in stainless-steel, concrete or oak barrels. Precise work, regularly awarded in guides such as Gilbert & Gaillard, Parker or Decanter.
