Champagne Vincent Couche:Excellence in Biodynamics at the Heart of the Côte des Bar
A Visionary Estate in Champagne. Established in 1996 in Buxeuil, in the heart of the Côte des Bar in the Aube region, Vincent Couche cultivates 15 hectares of vineyards with passion and respect for nature. A pioneer, he adopted organic viticulture as early as 1998 and embraced biodynamics in 2008, convinced that the balance between vine, soil, and ecosystem is the key to producing exceptional champagnes. Today, the estate is certified Organic and Demeter, a guarantee of a rigorous and environmentally respectful approach.
Exceptional Terroirs: Buxeuil and Montgueux
The Buxeuil Vineyard — The Expression of Pinot Noir. With 12 hectares planted mainly with Pinot Noir, Buxeuil offers a unique terroir on Kimmeridgian soils, composed of marl and clay-limestone rich in marine fossils. The south and west exposure, combined with a microclimate influenced by the Seine River, ensures optimal grape ripeness. The planting density, higher than average (up to 10,100 vines/ha), increases competition between vines, producing more concentrated and aromatic berries.
Montgueux — The Kingdom of Chardonnay
In Montgueux, 3 hectares of Chardonnay thrive on Turonian chalk soils, perfectly south-facing. This terroir, often nicknamed the “Côte des Blancs of the Aube,” imparts finesse and mineral elegance to the cuvées.
Biodynamics — A Philosophy of Life and Vine
Biodynamics, as practiced by Vincent Couche, is based on ancestral agricultural methods and careful observation of the lunar cycle. Natural preparations made from plants (nettle, horsetail, meadowsweet, willow, thyme…) and minerals strengthen the vitality of the vine and boost its immune system. This approach encourages deep rooting, biodiversity, and the full expression of the terroirs. Pruning, plowing, treatments, and even harvesting follow the lunar calendar to optimize the plants’ energy.
Natural and Creative Winemaking
In the cellar, the philosophy remains the same: minimal intervention, maximum respect. Fermentation occurs naturally, and some cuvées, such as the renowned Cuvée Chloé, are made without any added sulfur. Blends are crafted with precision by Vincent Couche himself, always seeking the perfect balance between freshness, complexity, and aromatic purity.
Signature Cuvées to Discover
Cuvée Chloé – Champagne without sulfur, pure terroir expression. Millésime Rosé 2009 – Elegant and structured rosé champagne. ADN Montgueux 2010 – Zero dosage, 100% Chardonnay, mineral and vibrant. Rosé Désir – Zero dosage rosé, fruity and intense. Exceptional magnum cuvées from the wine library, such as Sensation 1999.
A Sustainable Commitment for the Future
At Vincent Couche, the pursuit of quality goes hand in hand with the protection of biodiversity and natural resources. This global approach makes it possible to produce healthy, authentic champagnes full of emotion, while preserving the richness of the terroirs for future generations.
Champagne with a Refined and Precise Style
This cuvée perfectly reflects the distinctive style already showcased in the "Chloé" vintage. Free from artifices or unnecessary embellishments, it is designed for discerning wine lovers seeking precise and finely crafted champagnes.
To fully appreciate its complexity, gentle aeration — or even a brief decanting — is recommended. The nose reveals fresh vegetal notes, delicately complemented by a hint of honey, while the palate impresses with its structure, elegance, and a finish that emphasizes length over breadth.
