Champagne Olivier Marteaux: character-driven Champagnes crafted with sincerity in the Marne Valley
In the heart of the Marne Valley, Champagne Olivier Marteaux embodies an artisanal and committed vision of Champagne. Here, there is no standardised production and no ready-made formulas. Since 2009, Olivier Marteaux, an independent winegrower, has been crafting authentic Champagnes, deeply rooted in their terroir and designed to express fruit, texture and the passage of time.
The vineyard covers 8 hectares, spread across around forty individual parcels, each worked with precision and respect. This parcel-by-parcel mosaic captures the full diversity of soils and exposures typical of the Marne Valley, resulting in nuanced, balanced and sincere cuvées.
Sustainable viticulture serving the Champagne terroir
The estate follows a sustainable and reasoned viticulture approach, deliberately limiting chemical inputs in order to preserve soils, biodiversity and the vine’s natural balance. Every intervention is carefully considered, guided by observation and down-to-earth common sense.
This respectful philosophy allows the true identity of the Champagne terroir to shine through, producing healthy grapes harvested at optimal ripeness – the essential foundation of great artisanal Champagnes.
Hand harvesting and rigorous grape selection
At Champagne Olivier Marteaux, all grapes are harvested by hand. This demanding choice ensures meticulous selection directly in the vineyard, preserving grape integrity and aromatic quality from the very start.
This attention paid at harvest time is naturally reflected in the glass, with precise, clean and expressive Champagnes.
Precise winemaking and extended ageing in the cellar
Winemaking takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving fruit purity and aromatic freshness. The wines then benefit from extended ageing in the cellar, allowing each cuvée to gain complexity, finesse and elegance.
Time plays a central role. Each Champagne is crafted without haste, in full respect of traditional Champagne methods, to achieve a harmonious balance between tension, roundness and depth.
A family-run house with a true artisanal soul
Champagne Olivier Marteaux is first and foremost a human-scale, family-run estate, where every bottle reflects artisanal know-how, constant attention and a strong commitment to quality. More than just Champagne, each cuvée tells a story: that of a winegrower, a terroir and a philosophy deeply respectful of the living world.
Characterful Champagnes, created for enthusiasts seeking meaning, authenticity and genuine pleasure.
