Maison Marc: Where the History of France Meets the Elegance of Champagne Terroirs
A Noble Heritage Shaped by Centuries. Maison Marc carries a rare legacy, shaped by centuries and driven by passion. The story begins in 1626, when Monseigneur François de Baradat, First Gentleman of the King under Louis XIII and owner of an estate in Fleury-la-Rivière, sees his destiny overturned. Exiled by Cardinal Richelieu after a duel and court intrigues, he eventually returns to his Champagne lands and passes them on to his descendants.
From this lineage was born Champagne Arthur Marc — a symbol of nobility, character and transmission.
A Singular Champagne Terroir of Light and Depth
Fleury-la-Rivière, the cradle of Maison Marc, sits on luminous clay-limestone soils where thirty-year-old vines take deep root. Nestled against the sunlit slopes of the Marne Valley, this terroir offers ideal conditions for expressing the finesse of Champagne’s three emblematic grape varieties:
- Pinot Noir — structure, depth and intensity,
- Pinot Meunier — roundness, fruit and generosity,
- Chardonnay — elegance, tension and precision.
Each cluster is harvested with extreme care: low yields, meticulous picking and reasoned, soil-respecting viticulture. Nature guides every gesture, with one vision in mind: preserve the land that shapes these exceptional champagnes.
An Artisanal Vision for Authentic Champagnes
The soul of Maison Marc lies in its ability to unite historical prestige with artisanal savoir-faire. The cuvées are crafted with uncompromising precision: rigorous juice selection, meticulous vinification and long ageing.
Each bottle reveals another facet of this noble terroir, where the passion of generations meets a confidently modern approach.
