Champagnes H.BATY - the sustainable refinement of a family estate in Bassuet

Champagnes H.BATY

A family Champagne house of Bassuet (Coteaux Vitryats) since 1970. Chardonnay on chalky soils, a minimum 4-year ageing, sustainable viticulture. Brut, Blanc de Blancs, Millesime, Eloge cuvee.

Located in Bassuet, in the heart of the Coteaux Vitryats Champagne vineyard, the H.BATY house crafts exceptional champagnes by combining family winegrowing tradition and eco-responsible practices. Created in 1970 by Lucien Baty, this estate has evolved over the generations, while remaining faithful to a vision: to produce elegant, authentic wines with respect for nature.

Taken over in 1980 by Hugues Baty, then joined by Romain Prieur in 2010, the estate embodies a strong family continuity, serving the unique identity of the Chardonnay plots of Bassuet.

A family estate rooted in its terroir

The family's objective: to highlight the unique identity of the Chardonnay plots planted on the chalky soils of Bassuet, a terroir favourable to the mineral, fresh expression of this noble grape. The H.BATY Champagnes are the fruit of precise plot-by-plot work, mastered winemaking and an extended cellar ageing of at least four years, guaranteeing finesse and complexity in every cuvee.

A sustainable, committed viticulture

The H.BATY house is committed to a sustainable viticulture in Champagne, limiting the use of chemical inputs, favouring biodiversity and working the soils with respect. This responsible approach is part of a logic of artisanal and sustainable production, to offer sincere champagnes, faithful reflections of their natural environment.

Millesime 2019

Vintage champagne

The expression of a single year, shaped by a long ageing: depth, complexity and length for a confidential cuvee.

Cuvee Eloge

The House's prestige cuvee

The estate's most accomplished cuvee, an expression of the family know-how and of the finest Chardonnay plots, for the great moments.

The range also includes the Brut Tradition (also in half-bottle and magnum), the Brut Rose and the Ratafia de Champagne, along with the Discovery and Prestige By Baty gift boxes to explore the House or as a gift.
