Champagne Guy de Forez - the excellence of Pinot Noir in Champagne
Champagne Guy de Forez
A family house of Les Riceys (Aube), 9 ha on the largest terroir of Champagne. Pinot Noir at 97%, Kimmeridgian limestone soils, reasoned viticulture. Brut Tradition, Noir Intense, Rose des Riceys.
In the centre of Les Riceys, the largest terroir of Champagne with 866 hectares, the Champagne Guy de Forez estate cultivates its 9 hectares of vines on the most prestigious hillsides. The village is unique in Champagne, with three distinct AOC: Champagne, Coteaux Champenois and Rose des Riceys, the latter having long seduced the French nobility, including Louis XIV.
For several generations, the Guy de Forez House has combined tradition and modernity. The loyal grape-pickers, some present for more than three decades, embody the family spirit of the estate, and their children continue today to take part in the harvest.

Pinot Noir: the heart of our wines
The vineyard is mainly composed of Pinot Noir (97%), complemented by Meunier (2%) and Chardonnay (1%). This grape gives the Guy de Forez champagnes a powerful structure and intense aromas, perfectly reflecting the character of the Les Riceys terroir.
A vineyard respectful of the environment
The estate practises reasoned viticulture, favouring a positive ecological impact while producing grapes of great quality. The soils, composed of Kimmeridgian limestone, clays and limestone platelets, combined with a climate blending oceanic and continental influences, offer ideal conditions for the harmonious development of the vines.
Traditional winemaking for authentic champagnes
The grapes are pressed in a vertical Coquard press, according to the Champagne tradition. The winemaking includes the malolactic fermentation for the white wines, a filtration without fining to preserve the aromas, manual riddling of the bottles on racks and an extended ageing on laths. These steps guarantee clear, elegant champagnes representative of Pinot Noir.
