Maison Dubois-Drouilly, the signature of a family in the heart of the Côte des Blancs

Maison Dubois-Drouilly

An independent family champagne house in Villevenard, on the edge of the Côte des Blancs, for three generations. Chardonnay as master, on Grand Cru and Premier Cru terroirs. First-press cuvees, Solera method and long ageing.

For three generations, the Maison Dubois-Drouilly has given birth to champagnes of character in the village of Villevenard, on the edge of the prestigious Côte des Blancs. Here, the passion for champagne is passed on as a living heritage: that of a family of winegrowers who blend respect for the old gestures, rigorous selection of the grapes and a resolutely forward-looking gaze. In this cradle of the Grands Blancs, the Chardonnay variety reigns supreme, offering wines of a finesse and purity unique in the world.

An exceptional terroir, between Grands Crus and Premiers Crus

The house's champagnes are mainly from parcels located on terroirs classified Grand Cru and Premier Cru. This exacting origin is felt in every glass: a straight, elegant mineral frame, a precise freshness, a length worthy of the great cuvees of Champagne. Chardonnay, completed by Pinot Noir and Meunier depending on the cuvees, expresses all the richness of the Champagne terroir: the finesse of the blancs de blancs, the depth of the blends, the gourmandise of the rosés.

A patient know-how: first-press cuvees, Solera reserve and long ageing

The house works exclusively the first-press cuvees (tetes de cuvee), to guarantee purity and delicacy. The blends are enriched with reserve wines aged in the Solera method for more than twenty years, bringing complexity, amplitude and a unique aromatic signature. Each champagne benefits from a prolonged ageing in the cellar: several years on lees, then a rest after disgorgement, to gain in creaminess, in fineness of bubble and in harmony.

The Chardonnay of the Grands Blancs, at the heart of the style

In Villevenard, at the gates of the Côte des Blancs, Chardonnay signs the identity of the house: it gives the Blanc de Blancs, straight, chiselled and deeply mineral, enriched with the Solera Perpetual Reserve. Completed by Pinot Noir and Meunier, it structures the Brut Tradition, brings fruit and colour to the Brut Rosé, and gains depth in the Cuvée Prestige Millésimée. Each cuvee reflects the finesse of the Grands Blancs and the patience of a long ageing.

The cuvees of the Maison Dubois-Drouilly

From the Brut Tradition, balanced and gourmet, to the pure, mineral Blanc de Blancs, by way of the Brut Rosé and the Cuvée Prestige Millésimée, a range faithful to the house style. To discover direct.

Brut Tradition

3 varieties - balance and gourmandise

A blend of the three Champagne varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier) with a share of reserve wines. Generous on the nose, harmonious on the palate, it embodies the house style. Nearly 3 years on lees, then 1 year after disgorgement.

Brut Rosé

Fruity freshness & charm

Elegance and intensity: from the three varieties, it includes a proportion of red wine of Pinot Noir and Meunier. A delicately coloured robe, crunchy red fruits, an expressive and refined palate. Nearly 3 years on lees, then refined in bottle.

Brut Blanc de Blancs

100% Chardonnay - the purity of the Grands Blancs

100% Chardonnay from the best parcels, completed by a large share of Perpetual Reserve (Solera method). After 3 years minimum on lees then 2 years of rest, it reveals itself straight, chiselled and deeply mineral, with a fine mousse.

Cuvée Prestige Millésimée

The memory of the great years

From an exceptional harvest (for example the 2015 vintage), Chardonnay- and Meunier-dominant. More than 5 years on lees, then 2 years after disgorgement: dense matter, a complex aromatic (dried fruits, woody notes) and an ample, vinous palate.

A Grand Cru and Premier Cru terroir

Chardonnay & first-press cuvees

Champagnes mainly from parcels classified Grand Cru and Premier Cru, on the Côte des Blancs. The house works exclusively the first-press cuvees (tetes de cuvee), for purity and delicacy.

A patient know-how

Solera 20+ years & long ageing

Reserve wines aged in the Solera method for more than twenty years, and long ageing in the cellar: several years on lees, then a rest after disgorgement. It is this patience that gives the house style: balance, depth and drinkability.
