Champagne Boulachin-Chaput: Eight Generations of Passion in the Côte des Bar
Since 1799, the Boulachin-Chaput family has cultivated vineyards with passion and respect for the terroir, in Arrentières, at the heart of the Côte des Bar. Today, Geoffrey, representing the 8th generation, carries on this heritage by crafting artisanal, elegant, and expressive champagnes, produced entirely on the estate.
A Family Estate and a Terroir of Excellence
The vineyard covers 4 hectares spread across Arrentières, Colombé-le-Sec, Colombé-la-Fosse, and Voigny, with:
- Pinot Noir (66%) – typical of the Côte des Bar
- Chardonnay (22%) – for its finesse and minerality
- Pinot Meunier (12%) – adding softness and roundness
The marl and limestone soils, combined with the ideal exposure of the slopes, allow the grapes to develop their full aromatic richness.
Sustainable and Certified Viticulture
- No chemical herbicides
- Mechanical soil work
- Controlled natural grass cover
- Soil analysis and organic fertilization
- Hedges and biodiversity encouraged
Certified Terra Vitis since 2014, the estate is in the process of obtaining Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne and HVE Level 3 certifications.
100% Artisanal Production
From pruning to bottling, every step is done by hand. Grapes are pressed whole, vinified in small stainless steel tanks, and each blend is crafted with precision. Aging on lees lasts from 2 to 10 years, depending on the cuvée.
