Champagne Boude Baudin – The Art of Champagne Between Tradition and Modernity
A Family Estate in the Heart of the Marne Valley. In Cormoyeux, a charming village nestled between Reims and Épernay, the Boude Baudin family has cultivated vines with passion for over a century. On the rolling hills of the Marne Valley, the harmony of soil, exposure, and microclimate gives birth to characterful Champagnes — elegant, expressive, and deeply rooted in their terroir.
A Story of Family and Passion
At the beginning of the 20th century, Alfred Baudin and Denis Pongnot tended the family vines in Cormoyeux. Their children, Gustave Baudin and Albert Pongnot, began producing and selling their own Champagne in the 1960s. In 1993, Nathalie Baudin and José Boude united both family estates, founding Champagne Boude Baudin. Today, their son Benjamin represents the new generation — faithful to his heritage yet open to innovation and sustainability.
Where Craftsmanship Meets Technical Precision
The estate cultivates the three emblematic Champagne grape varieties — Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay — through sustainable viticulture. Each step of the vine’s cycle is guided by human hands and an intimate knowledge of nature. From winter pruning to tying, thinning, and trellising, every gesture matters. Harvesting is entirely manual, ensuring the selection of the finest grapes. Traditional pressing and long lees aging bring finesse, depth, and complexity to every cuvée.
Remuage and Disgorgement: The Handcrafted Signature
The bottles age between two and five years in the cellar for non-vintage Champagnes, and up to ten years for vintage cuvées. The estate still performs disgorgement à la volée — a rare, manual method done without freezing, preserving the wine’s purity. Depending on the cuvée, a dosage liqueur defines the style: Brut, Demi-Sec, or Nature, before final dressing and labeling.
The Art of Champagne: Precision, Patience, and Passion
Champagne Boude Baudin embodies the perfect balance between heritage and modern craftsmanship. Each bottle is aged to full maturity before release, ready to be enjoyed without further cellaring. Served chilled (7–10°C), the wines reveal their full personality — fine bubbles, fresh fruit, and a long, elegant finish.
