Maison Berthelot-Piot - five generations of authentic Champagne at the heart of the Marne Valley
Champagne Berthelot-Piot
A family house of Festigny, in the Marne Valley, Recoltant-Manipulant for five generations. 15 hectares on clay-limestone, three Champagne grapes. Eight cuvees, from Brut Tradition to Blanc de Blancs.
A story of humility and passion. Based in Festigny, in the Marne Valley, the Berthelot-Piot House has carried on for five generations a know-how deeply rooted in its terroir. Chantal, Yves and their son Eddy embody today this line of passionate winegrowers, united by the same commitment: to create elegant, sincere champagnes, faithful to the spirit of rural Champagne.
Over the decades, the family has cultivated an unshakeable attachment to its land and its vines, favouring a reasoned viticulture, attentive to the living and respectful of the seasons. This philosophy has shaped the unique personality of the Berthelot-Piot champagnes: precise, refined, luminous.

A living heritage passed down through the generations
For the Berthelot-Piot family, Champagne is not only a festive drink: it is a heritage, an art of living, an emotion. The gestures passed down over five generations tell the same quest for excellence:
Observe the vines day after day and listen to nature.
Harvest by hand at the perfect moment.
Blend with precision and let time do its work in the cellars.
Each vintage is the fruit of patient work, guided by humility and love of the craft.
A generous terroir at the heart of the Marne Valley
The estate stretches over 15 hectares planted on clay-limestone soil, bathed in sunshine and ventilated by the valley currents. This privileged terroir offers grapes of a remarkable purity, perfectly suited to the expression of the three emblematic grapes:
Pinot Noir, structure and depth.
Pinot Meunier, roundness and fruit.
Chardonnay, freshness and elegance.
Short pruning, controlled yields, manual harvesting: here, the vine is worked with respect, patience and precision.
From the vine to the bottle: a mastered know-how
The magic then happens in the cellar, where the family crafts each of its cuvees itself. The blends seek the perfect balance between power and finesse. The second fermentation in the bottle and the prolonged ageing in the cellar allow the champagnes to develop:
A delicate bubble, fine and persistent.
An expressive bouquet, open and aromatic.
An indulgent and elegant personality, the signature of the house.
This total mastery, from the soil to the bottle, gives the Berthelot-Piot House its status of demanding Recoltant-Manipulant.
