Champagne Bauget-Jouette: A Family Tradition
Founded in 1822, the Bauget-Jouette House is a true family institution located in Épernay, the capital of Champagne. Passed down through generations, the estate's history began with Gaston and Suzanne Bauget (née Jouette) and continues today with a 12.5-hectare vineyard, perpetuating a unique savoir-faire in the production of exceptional champagnes.
Diverse Terroirs for Exceptional Champagnes
The Bauget-Jouette vineyard benefits from exceptional terroirs spread across more than thirty plots, including the Southern Hills of Épernay, the Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte des Blancs (Premier Cru). These historic soils favor the cultivation of grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, while Pinot Noir, though less prevalent, adds a particular elegance to the blends. These terroirs allow for the production of refined champagnes with complex and distinctive aromas.
Environmental Commitment and Quality Craftsmanship
The estate adopts environmentally friendly farming practices, with a large portion of the vineyard being grassed over and eliminating the use of herbicides like glyphosate. On its way to HVE (High Environmental Value) certification, the house is committed to sustainability. All stages of production, from pressing to bottling, take place in Épernay in a historic property, with partial barrel aging and extended aging after disgorging, ensuring the exceptional quality of each cuvée.
