It was in 1513, with Pierre-Etienne Mellot, that the Mellot name began to rise in the world of viticulture, and in 1698, when César Mellot became a wine purchasing advisor for the King.

From generation to generation, the Mellot name has made a significant impact in the wine world, with the estate now covering the most prestigious appellations of the Loire: Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Reuilly, Quincy, Châteaumeillant, Coteaux du Giennois, and Pouilly-sur-Loire. The Mellot family was among the first to export the region's wines to Denmark, the Netherlands, and Great Britain as early as the 1960s, as well as selling their wines at the Bercy market in Paris.

Catherine Corbeau-Mellot and her two sons, Armand and Adrien Mellot, work with the iconic grape varieties that have brought success to the wines of the Centre-Val de Loire on their 100 hectares of vineyards. This is the only estate in the Loire to vinify wines from all the appellations in the region.

The estate's wines allow you to discover the sublime Sauvignon Blancs of the region, particularly through the renowned appellations of Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, and Menetou-Salon. For red wines, it’s Pinot Noir that shines, offering subtle and elegant wines, much like their Burgundy neighbors.
