How does a winemaker join the Avenue des Vins platform?

Joining Avenue des Vins primarily means joining a platform dedicated to wines and champagnes, designed to help estates sell online more easily, directly to private customers in France and Europe. The goal is clear: to allow winemakers to grow their sales without losing their identity or autonomy over prices, references, and their image. The platform is primarily aimed at independent winemakers and estates that want to control their distribution, gain visibility, and rely on an already established structure for sales, marketing, and logistics. Entry to Avenue des Vins follows a progressive process: contact, tasting, validation, creation of the online shop, promotion of the estate, then sales. Rest assured, estates are not isolated in an impersonal catalog, as Avenue des Vins works with winemakers to build a showcase that reflects them and gives customers reasons to choose your estate over another.

How does the relationship between Avenue des Vins and an estate begin?

It all starts with a simple contact: either we approach an estate we want to work with, or the winemaker comes to us. In both cases, the idea is not to “sell a solution” at any cost, but to verify that our approach is compatible with the way the estate works and that we can genuinely add value to the activity.

After this first exchange, a phone interview clarifies expectations and presents the support offered. At this point, the winemaker usually receives a clear presentation of the main elements: how the marketplace works, the customer journey, logistical aspects, and the commercial framework. Regarding remuneration, Avenue des Vins operates on a commission basis on sales. The goal is to proceed transparently so that winemakers do not invest large amounts without being sure of being profitable. In short, winemakers have nothing to lose, but everything to gain by selling their wines on the platform!

Why are wines tasted before being sold on Avenue des Vins?

Once contact is established, the next step is to send samples. Our team tastes all the cuvées to understand the style of the estate and ensure that the range is coherent and meets the expectations of our customers. Of course, we accept all wine styles but primarily look for balance. This tasting is conducted by the team and also relies on the expertise of an external oenologist or sommelier to cross-check impressions and validate the selection.

Samples also have a very practical use, as they help feed visibility actions: journalists, influencers, or content creation depending on opportunities. The idea is not only to “validate” an estate but to create the conditions for a successful launch upon arrival on our platform. This step also allows the choice of a cuvée to be highlighted, for example in a tasting video or for integration into one of our selections or blog articles (food and wine pairing, for example).

What happens once the estate is validated?

Once the selection is confirmed, the winemaker joins the platform, and we move on to building the online shop in the “Our Winemakers” section. Avenue des Vins works like a personalized showcase: the estate retains control over prices, references, stock, visuals, and messaging. The shop is accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile, with a structure designed to sell without sacrificing the estate’s identity. The team supports the winemaker at every step and posts the cuvées clearly and attractively, ensuring each product sheet is understandable and accessible.

To open the showcase, a few simple elements are generally needed: photos of the winemaker and vineyard (vines, cellars, winery), cuvée visuals, technical sheets if possible, pricing, and a presentation text of the estate. The goal is to build a page that inspires confidence and helps the customer envision the experience. If you wish to go further, options exist, such as studio photography of bottles or video creation (tasting, ambiance) to enrich the showcase and increase engagement.

How does Avenue des Vins talk about its winemakers?

Visibility does not rely solely on online presence: it depends on how the story of an estate is told. Avenue des Vins develops an editorial approach, notably with the “winemaker portrait” section, highlighting the history, terroir, cultivation choices, and winemaking decisions of each estate. This content is not just an “institutional” text: it is meant to create a connection and humanize our offer.

In parallel, the platform provides tailored communication: promotion on the website, integration into selections, sharing on social networks, acquisition campaigns on strategic keywords, and sometimes publications in partner media. The idea is to provide a visibility ecosystem that many estates do not have time to build on their own.

How does direct sales and delivery work?

On Avenue des Vins, sales are made on the site, and wines are shipped from the estate, which is the core of the model. When an order is placed, it is transmitted to the estate, which handles shipping. Avenue des Vins facilitates logistics with free anti-breakage packaging for all orders and provides access to a wider audience, notably via translating your showcase into English and selling in Europe without additional complex mechanisms. For the winemaker, it is a way to expand their reach without having to build an international e-commerce infrastructure alone.

Regarding the economic model, the idea is simple: the estate benefits from an online shop, visibility tools, and support, in exchange for an adherence framework and a commission on sales. Exact amounts and conditions may vary depending on the period; occasional offers may exist, but the principle remains the same: the platform earns mainly from generated activity. It is a win-win partnership, as Avenue des Vins has every interest in ensuring its winemakers are visible and make sales!

In summary

Joining Avenue des Vins means following a clear path: an initial exchange, sending and tasting samples, validating the estate, and then creating a personalized showcase, enriched with communication content. The estate then ships its orders directly from its vineyard, with logistical support from the platform. This allows winemakers to save time, gain visibility, and reach private customers in France and Europe.

If you are looking to grow your online sales without giving up your independence, while relying on an already operational marketing and e-commerce structure, Avenue des Vins is a concrete opportunity. If a partnership interests you, contact us to discuss, send your samples, and let’s see together if a collaboration makes sense for your estate.

FAQ - Joining Avenue des Vins

How can a winemaker get in touch with Avenue des Vins?

Both directions work: the team approaches estates it has spotted, and winemakers also reach out on their own. A phone interview follows that first exchange to clarify expectations and walk through how the marketplace works, the customer journey, logistics and the commercial framework.

Why are the wines tasted before they go on sale?

The team tastes every cuvee sent as a sample to understand the estate's style and check that the range holds together. An outside oenologist or sommelier cross-checks impressions and validates the selection. All wine styles are welcome, with balance as the main criterion.

What do you need to open your online showcase?

Photos of the winemaker and the vineyard, cuvee visuals, technical sheets if you have them, your prices and a presentation text about the estate. Extra options are available, such as studio photography of the bottles or a tasting video to enrich the page.

Does the winemaker keep control over prices and cuvees?

Yes. The showcase is personalised and the estate keeps control over its prices, references, stock, visuals and messaging. The team puts the cuvees online and supports each step, without imposing choices on the range or on the estate's identity.

Who ships the bottles when a customer places an order?

The estate does. The sale happens on the site, the order is passed to the winemaker, who handles shipping straight to the customer. Avenue des Vins supplies anti-breakage packaging for every order and opens the showcase to Europe by translating it into English.
