Portraits of winemakers
THE DELEUZE-ROCHETIN ESTATE, A RICH HISTORY AND A PHILOSOPHY ROOTED IN TRADITION

The history of Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin dates back several centuries, with deep roots in the region's history dating back to Roman times.
Originally owned by the Barjeton Durfort family from the Middle Ages until the early 19th century, the estate came into the Deleuze Rochetin family in 1820, before being taken over by the Deldycke family in 2022. This family continuity has allowed for the preservation and perpetuation of traditional viticultural practices while integrating modern and environmentally friendly techniques.
In the winery, built in 2006, the production of wines is carried out with meticulous respect for the characteristics of the terroirs. Winemaker Baptiste Cartier seeks to produce wines that fully express the unique features of this terroir and reflect the identity of the estate. The wines of Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin, whether red, white, or rosé, are both the result of collective work, where every man and woman participates in the life of the estate, and the product of the collaboration between man and nature.
A Preserved Natural Gem in the Heart of Uzège
Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin is situated in an exceptional setting where nature reigns supreme. Located in the heart of Uzège, this estate is a true green oasis, surrounded by the Cévennes mountains, Mont Ventoux, and the Rhône River. This vibrant landscape offers an ideal environment for viticulture, with rich and varied clay-limestone soils that allow the vines to flourish fully. The 23 hectares of vineyards at Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin have been certified organic since 2009, reflecting a deep commitment to preserving this nature and environment.
Indeed, the philosophy of the estate is based on a symbiosis between man and nature. The plots are located in the heart of the garrigue, among flowers, olive trees, and truffle oaks, creating a privileged habitat for a diverse fauna, ranging from insects to birds and small mammals. This respect for the ecosystem is reflected in every step of viticulture, where environmentally friendly practices have been the norm for over 15 years. The choice of organic farming quickly became an obvious decision at Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin.
Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin: Balancing Tradition and Innovation
Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin is constantly evolving, with a vision resolutely oriented toward the future. The estate team is committed to developing its wine tourism offerings, providing guided walks through the vineyards, themed evenings centered around tastings, and convivial moments centered around their wines. This approach not only shares the passion for wine with visitors but also showcases the richness of the region and the beauty of the landscapes, such as the magnificent sunrises over the Syrah plot.
In addition to wine tourism, the estate continues to innovate in its viticultural practices. The soils are mechanically worked to preserve their richness and minimize the use of synthetic products. This desire to continually improve without encroaching on nature is at the heart of Domaine Deleuze-Rochetin's commitment. Each vinification is carried out with particular attention, minimizing the addition of inputs to produce authentic and crystalline wines that captivate with their purity and expressiveness.
