AOC Volnay
Burgundy, located in eastern France, is one of the country's oldest wine-growing regions and is renowned for its exceptional vintages. The Volnay AOC appellation covers 220 hectares of marl and limestone soils. Both red and white wines are produced in this appellation from Pinot noir and Chardonnay vines. The latter are rare and are produced only in the Santenos locality. The red wines are said to be "feminine" or "seductive" due to their finesse and lightness. They express notes of cherry, morello cherry, and violet, as well as spices. They can be enjoyed both young and after a few years of cellaring.
