AOC Saumur mousseux

Located in north-western France, the Loire vineyards stretch over some 70,000 hectares, from the Massif Central to Nantes. The AOC Saumur Mousseux appellation area covers almost 1,500 hectares in the Saumurois region, a terroir characterized by predominantly limestone soils. The temperate climate is ideal for growing grape varieties such as Chenin, Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. These vines, grown in optimal conditions, produce sparkling white and rosé wines, renowned for their finesse and balance. AOC Saumur Mousseux sparkling wines are characterized by good ageing potential, with an average ageing period of 5 years.
