As its name suggests, this vineyard is located in south-western France, between the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, and covers 11 départements (Aveyron, Dordogne, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes- Pyrénées, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes). The AOC Irouléguy appellation covers some 220 hectares in the Pays Basque vineyards, with soils composed mainly of clay, limestone, alluvium and sandstone. Vines of gros manseng, petit manseng, tannat, cabernet-franc and cabernet-sauvignon, among others, are planted in this appellation in the oceanic climate of this geographical zone, producing white wines, rosés and semi-preserved reds. While the latter two are marked by tannins, a fleshy mouthfeel and aromas of wild flowers, the white wines are long on the palate, fresh and aromatic (white flowers and exotic fruit).
