The AOC Coteaux de l’Aubance, located in the Loire Valley, is renowned for its sweet white wines primarily made from the Chenin Blanc grape. This appellation, recognized since 1950, reflects an ancient winemaking tradition, where vintners skillfully harness the favorable climate conditions for the development of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) to produce naturally sweet wines.
Chenin Blanc, also known as Pineau de la Loire, is the flagship grape of the appellation. This essential white grape from the Loire Valley is particularly suited to the Aubance terroir and the production of sweet wines, due to its ability to ripen well while maintaining a vibrant acidity.
