Burgundy, in central-eastern France, is one of France's oldest wine-growing regions, renowned for its great vintages, including the AOC Chorey-lès-Beaune. The AOC Chorey-lès-Beaune covers around 130 hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines planted mainly in alluvial soils in the Côte d'Or wine-growing region. The white wines produced here are known for their liveliness when young, with notes mainly of white flowers and hazelnuts; the red wines, on the other hand, express red fruit, as befits the grape variety used, and are light and tannic. These are good ageing wines, which can be kept for between 3 and 8 years for the whites and between 3 and 10 years for the reds.
