Burgundy, in central-eastern France, is one of France's oldest wine-growing regions, renowned for its great vintages, including the AOC Chevalier Montrachet. In the south of the Côte de Beaune, the appellation area of this prestigious AOC covers just over 7 hectares of Chardonnay vines, planted mainly on limestone slopes. The Grands Crus white wines produced here are renowned for their elegance and finesse, their minerality, breed and complexity. These are excellent wines for laying down, which can be kept for 7 to 15 years, and up to 30 years for certain vintages.
