AOC Chassagne-montrachet
In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes the AOC Chassagne-Montrachet.
South of Beaune, the appellation area of this AOC extends over 305 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, planted on soils composed of limestone, pebbles, marl or sand. The white wines produced there are known for their minerality and the richness of their aromatic palette, which tends towards notes of honey or pear as they age; the red wines are characterized by their aromas of red fruits and their tannic structure. They produce good wines for laying down that can be kept between 3 and 12 years for the whites and between 5 and 15 years for the reds.
