As its name suggests, this vineyard is located in south-western France, between the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, and covers 11 départements (Aveyron, Dordogne, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes). These include the AOC Béarn-Bellocq. The appellation area covers 4 communes (Bellocq, Orthez, Lahontan and Salies de Béarn) to the west of the city of Pau, on some 90 hectares of mainly limestone soils. Tannat and raffiat de Moncade vines, among others, are planted in this appellation, benefiting from the favorable micro-climate and oceanic influences of this geographical area, and are used to produce both white and red wines. These wines are renowned for their perfumed mouthfeel and delicate aromas of fruit and gunflint.
